It’s been an exciting few months since the release of Season 1, and we’ve already had the priviledge of being selected for a number of festivals across the globe.
That’s a mention/official selection from every festival we’ve entered so far, which is a fantastic boost for the First Musketeer team, who all worked so hard to bring this series into existence!
Here is an list of our nominations to date:
The Geekie Awards: Honourable Mention and inclusion in their top 8 fictional series.
Raindance Festival: Best New Discovery – Harriet Sams (Director), Best Production Design, Best Costume.
International Online Web Fest: Best European Series (awaiting results)
UK Web Fest: Best UK Series (Winner)
Toronto Web Fest: Best Action/Adventure Series, Best Screenplay – Harriet Sams (awaiting results)
At long last our series is finally complete! So keep your eyes peeled for release dates as we’ll be coming to a computer near you very soon.

Over the last few weeks we have released a number of clips from Season 1 of The First Musketeer on our official YouTube Channel. Just in case anyone has missed them we’ve curated them all here.
Clip 1 introduces us to the mysterious Marion (Nicole O’Neill) as she meets the troubled Athos (Edward Mitchell) for the first time:
Clip 2 sees Lazare (Tony Sams) share a little about his past, as Porthos (Charles Barrett) and Ghislain (Paul McMaster) clash swords:
Clip 3 introduces our villain, The Pilgrim (Sean Knopp), who seeks information from one of his many court spies (Mariya Mizuno):

They say you should start the year as you mean to go on, so I’m starting the year in the stunning south of France at some of the locations we’ll be using for the web series.
As our series is being shot entirely on location the importance of finding the perfect “Musketeer” look is paramount. Fortunately the area we have chosen to film in is by no means lacking in suitable landscapes and architecture.
So where is this magical area we have chosen to film? For those of you who know the south of France you may be unsurprised to hear we are shooting in and around the Lot and the Dorgodgne, famous for their beautiful medieval towns and Chateaux.
If you’re interested to see more about the locations take a look at our latest Pinterest Board, where I have gathered a number of photos of the locations we plan on using next summer: Pinterest Lot and Dordogne Locations
As promised here is a little video snippet from our first rehearsals last wednesday.
It covers the scene where Athos and Porthos first meet, their fight, and Athos and Marion’s first meeting.
